The article examines the dynamics of intimate relationships within Gene ration Z through a study conducted on TikTok. It explores how young people negotiate their affective identity between authenticity and the spectacle of re lational dynamics. The phenomenon of “malessere” (discomfort) emerges as a counter-narrative to modern relationships, reintroducing hegemonic masculinity and traditionalist models that reinforce gender inequalities. The investigation combines digital ethnography and cultural analysis to highlight the impact of social media on the construction of relationships and gender roles. The study reflects on the tension between progress and emerging conservatism in affective representations, emphasizing the pervasive role of digital media in normalizing relational dynamics based on control and possessiveness.
