Caput mundi. Roma dopo due anni di pandemia

This analysis, drawn up one year after the start of the pandemic intends to present the situation of the Capital with regards to the impact of the pandemic on the usability of the architectural heritage and on cultural tourism. The gentrification process which has been underway for several years in the historic city centre during the pandemic, revealed the fragility of a model that tends to alienate the original inhabitants and replaces them with the “hit and run” tourism of large numbers, which leaves the urban fabric and economy deserted, favouring a mono-culture of activities “at the service” of the tourist.
