In this paper a useful multivariate statistical process control method is proposed. In spite of the complexity of a multivariate process control problem, the proposed strategy leads to simple multivariate SPC charts. This method allows to handle non-linear dependence relationships in data structure, missing values and outliers. By simultaneously monitoring input and output variables, it quickly detects and diagnoses unusual events that may occur during the process. Real and simulated applications will illustrate the capabilities of the PLSS chart.
