Four specied of Echinocythereis Puri, 1954 have been studied and illustrated. Two previously known species, that is E. echinata (Sars, 1866) and E. scabra (Von Munster, 1830) are restudied and discussed. Two species, E. oertliana n. sp. from the Italian Tortonian, and E. vidua n. sp. from the Last Glacial of the Gulf of Naples, are introduced as new.
