In last years, toxics pollution has become a relevant topic in lake management, especially in developed countries; thus, much effort is expended to improve the knowledge about contaminant transport and transformation phenomena and about their effects on lakes water quality. The paper deals with characterisation of input parameters for a dimensionless steady-state model that simulates fate processes of volatile environmental contaminants; particularly, dimensionless volatilization rates for 2 pesticides, TCDD and endrin aldehyde, are estimated using the field data of almost 80 Italian lakes. A careful insight of results allows to define the variation range of input parameters and to introduce some simplifications into complete solutions of model.
