With reference to some of the researches jointly carried out by R.M. Capocelli and the author, a bird's eye view is provided of the theory of one-dimensional diffusion processes as a tool to model single neuron activity. After sketching the basic background, some specific processes are reviewed and a variety of approaches available for neuronal modeling are outlined together with certain computation procedures for solving the related firing problem. Neuronal model with state-dependent infinitesimal variance are finally mentioned.

Abstract
With reference to some of the researches jointly carried out by R.M. Capocelli and the author, a bird's eye view is provided of the theory of one-dimensional diffusion processes as a tool to model single neuron activity. After sketching the basic background, some specific processes are reviewed and a variety of approaches available for neuronal modeling are outlined together with certain computation procedures for solving the related firing problem. Neuronal model with state-dependent infinitesimal variance are finally mentioned.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
