The history of consumer societies in Italy is one of the most recent in Europe, beginning in the mid-eights as a response to european guidelines. Statute 281 of 1998 has acknowledged european norms, institutionally recognizing societies' activities and their inhibiting capacity. The author refers to the first successfull resullts obtained in the ADICONSUM courts.
