Correlazioni tra prolattina, cortisolo, T3, e T4 nella cagna in corso di presudogravidanza

The levels of prolactin, cortisol, T3 and T4 have been measured in 9 bitches during pseudopregnancy. The analysis of the data showed that thyroid hormones significantly decreased during the lactation period while cortisol and prolactin had an opposite trend. Furthermore, the patterns of thyroid hormones were inversely related both to cortisol and prolactin. The authors suggest that metabolism of thyroid hormones is involved in generating lactation during pseudopregnancy.
