Seven organic farms (3 beef cattle, 1 dairy buffaloes, 2 dairy sheep, 1 pigs) were used to calculate inter-observer reliability of resource and animal based-parameters assessed by 3 independent observers. Results showed a satisfactory inter-observer reliability among the observers, which was computed in terms of χ2 and degree of agreement for animal-based and resource parameters, respectively. In particular, frequencies of positive animals were similar for all variables apart from cleanliness in sheep (P<0.05), whereas the degree of agreement for resource variables was above 50% for all species apart from pigs. Results suggest that more training is needed in order to increase the reliability of the method.
