We use the Depth from Extreme Points method (DEXP) for self-potential (SP) data interpretation. We describe how to estimate in a fast way the depth to the source, the structural index and the shape factor of the causative sources. The method is demonstrated for synthetic examples and shows a great agreement with the true model parameters. Also, it is applied to real data from a Malachite Mine, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA. The estimated depth and structural index are in a good agreement with the known geology.

Abstract
We use the Depth from Extreme Points method (DEXP) for self-potential (SP) data interpretation. We describe how to estimate in a fast way the depth to the source, the structural index and the shape factor of the causative sources. The method is demonstrated for synthetic examples and shows a great agreement with the true model parameters. Also, it is applied to real data from a Malachite Mine, Jefferson County, Colorado, USA. The estimated depth and structural index are in a good agreement with the known geology.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
