The research group of “Measurements on communication systems and networks” of the Neapolitan GMEE Unit, led by Prof. Leopoldo Angrisani, has started a collaboration with ATS Assistance, a company leader in the field of preventive and corrective ICT assistance. The collaboration aims at designing and realizing an automatic real-time system for security measurements over VoIP (voice over IP) systems. The system allows the evaluation both of objective and subjective quality parameters, in the presence of typical security attacks to the infrastructure. VoIP application developers and vendors could benefit from such a measurement system, especially for the tests they are required to carry out to assess the robustness of their products with respect to the most common security threats. The activity is expected to lead to the definition of security-oriented guidelines for the development of VoIP applications
