This paper aims to demonstrate how new network and software technologies are a suitable basis for building a geographically Distributed Measurement Laboratory. An architecture characterized by high reconfigurability, modularity, extendibility and re-usability is proposed. The hardware and software solutions are discussed in detail. The effectiveness of the proposed architecture is experimentally illustrated by an actual implementation. © 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.

Abstract
This paper aims to demonstrate how new network and software technologies are a suitable basis for building a geographically Distributed Measurement Laboratory. An architecture characterized by high reconfigurability, modularity, extendibility and re-usability is proposed. The hardware and software solutions are discussed in detail. The effectiveness of the proposed architecture is experimentally illustrated by an actual implementation. © 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
