Various kinds of solar assisted heat pumps systems and some of the technical and energetic reasons of their design are presented. A dual source solar assisted heat pump demonstration system, with two evaporators and two tanks, is then presented together with its modalities of operation. The most significant indices of performance of the system obtained by the reduction of the experimental data collected during two heating periods are finally shown.
