Six new 3β,5α,6β-trihydroxylated sterol derivs. were isolated from the sponges H. communis, S. officinalis, and I. variabilis, along with previously reported triols. Eleven 3β,6α-dihydroxylated sterols, isolated from the sponge S. gracilis, are also reported. Of these sterols 9 are new. The structures of the new natural polyols were determined by spectral data. Abstract
