RADIOIMMUNORILEVAZIONE INTRAOPERATORIA. ESPERIENZA RELATIVA AL B72.3 NEL CARCINOMA DEL COLON-RETTO

Authors report their initial experience about RIGS. Analysis has regarded 20 patients submitted to surgery for colorectal carcinoma from October 1988 until October 1990. The technique, based on intra-operative detection by a hand-held probe of a radio-labeled MoAb reacting with an antigen localized in many epithelial tumors, has showed encouraging results. Most evident limits are TAG 72 absence and pre-op waiting. Probe technical improvement, shorter time between MoAb injection and surgery, most specific MoAb detection are the goals to release RIGS like a routine intra-operative staging technique.
