Liquid crystalline epoxy resins can be used as a matrix to encapsulate low molecular weight liquid crystalline droplets to produce PDLC devices. The presence of the low mass liquid crystal decreases the rate of reaction of the resin, that also hardens in a mesomorphic structure for high concentrations of liquid crystal. The optical characterization of the PDLC indicates an improvement of the angular transmission of visible light.

Abstract
Liquid crystalline epoxy resins can be used as a matrix to encapsulate low molecular weight liquid crystalline droplets to produce PDLC devices. The presence of the low mass liquid crystal decreases the rate of reaction of the resin, that also hardens in a mesomorphic structure for high concentrations of liquid crystal. The optical characterization of the PDLC indicates an improvement of the angular transmission of visible light.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
