In 1938 José Gaos held his first conference in Mexico on the philosophy of philosophy, reprising a theme that he had already tackled in his last Spanish years and on which he will return in his lessons of the Sixties. The result was a debate, during which Francisco Larroyo compared Gaos’ arguments, more than to the explicit diltheyan precedent, to Lask’s logic of the philosophy. From this historical pretext, the chapter aims to examine the missed encounter between Gaos and Lask as an episode of contemporary history of the infinite regress as a radically anthropological expression of philosophy.

Abstract
In 1938 José Gaos held his first conference in Mexico on the philosophy of philosophy, reprising a theme that he had already tackled in his last Spanish years and on which he will return in his lessons of the Sixties. The result was a debate, during which Francisco Larroyo compared Gaos’ arguments, more than to the explicit diltheyan precedent, to Lask’s logic of the philosophy. From this historical pretext, the chapter aims to examine the missed encounter between Gaos and Lask as an episode of contemporary history of the infinite regress as a radically anthropological expression of philosophy.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
