The fourth chapter—The role of narrative devices in fostering reflexivity in higher education (M.F. Freda)—intends to present the theoretical and methodological assumptions that have guided the Narrative Mediation Path (NMP) training model construction. To attain this aim, we will reflect on the use of narration as a methodological device and process of intervention, and we will focus on the relationship between narrative devices and reflexive competence. Narration becomes a semiotic device aimed at the promotion of the reflexive process. Finally, the chapter focuses on the role of the so-called narrative multimodality approach in supporting reflexive processes in the context of Higher Education and how they can support the processes of learning and the development of the Learning to Learn Key Competence.
