Sportivizzazione, sistemi di welfare e società: elementi teorici per interpretare il cambiamento

The article aims to define a theoretical and conceptual framework to analyze the transformations of the relationship between sport, welfare and society. It looks at how in contemporary western societies it is possible to incorporate sport into social welfare and social policy studies and suggest using the 'welfare systems' approach. Then it analyze the cultural changes that have transformed the modern form of sportivization: this has led to a differentiation of sport and physical activity. Finally, the essay highlights the risks of mitopoiesis from an overestimation of the 'power of sport' in the innovation of social policies.
