This chapter addresses the novelties emerging in the cultural heritage industry due to the implementation of new technologies of Internet of things. The authors propose a review of contributions emerging in new technologies for cultural heritage in different fields of science; this approach depends on the inadequate attention paid by business scholars to these novel issues affecting both service provision and experience in the cultural heritage industry. The authors offer a categorization of how four elements can be used to depict new technologies in cultural heritage-based services, namely interconnections, instrumentations, intelligence, and institutions. The four elements are useful for depicting the changes taking place in recent years and the consequences for service offerings, actors’ participation, knowledge, value perception, and the general complexity of the cultural heritage industry.

Abstract
This chapter addresses the novelties emerging in the cultural heritage industry due to the implementation of new technologies of Internet of things. The authors propose a review of contributions emerging in new technologies for cultural heritage in different fields of science; this approach depends on the inadequate attention paid by business scholars to these novel issues affecting both service provision and experience in the cultural heritage industry. The authors offer a categorization of how four elements can be used to depict new technologies in cultural heritage-based services, namely interconnections, instrumentations, intelligence, and institutions. The four elements are useful for depicting the changes taking place in recent years and the consequences for service offerings, actors’ participation, knowledge, value perception, and the general complexity of the cultural heritage industry.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
