The present paper, to be intended as a Work in Progress, is included in the wider context about changes introduced by Information Technology (IT) in the field of healthcare services. In particular, the introduction and the implementation of IT solutions in the diagnostics and care processes inside the medical structures offer many opportunities, orientated to a rationalisation and an integration of relationships and procedures, but pointing out, at the same time, the need of organisational changes in terms of coordination, integration and control both of functions and professionalism, in relation to the supplying service and its management quality.
