Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most com-mon human malignancy, oen arising from the progression of benign lesions called acnic keratosis (AK). The progression from AK to cSCC is likely a mulstep process involving sequenal DNA mutaons in oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, leading to increased genomic instability and/or loss of cell cycle control. Some driver mutaons involved in human cSCC have been idened, although the patho-genesis of cSCC at the molecular and genec level remains largely unknown.

Abstract

Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is the second most com-mon human malignancy, oen arising from the progression of benign lesions called acnic keratosis (AK). The progression from AK to cSCC is likely a mulstep process involving sequenal DNA mutaons in oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes, leading to increased genomic instability and/or loss of cell cycle control. Some driver mutaons involved in human cSCC have been idened, although the patho-genesis of cSCC at the molecular and genec level remains largely unknown.
