Ano Capri, Annacrapa, Donnacrapa, Anacapri. Senso, derive e ritorno di un toponimo greco

The two names that are called the municipality of Anacapri, on the island of Capri, are examined: next to the official name Anacapri, which shows a Greek origin (aná + Capri = 'the Capri above'), there is the most obscure Ronnacrapa / Donnacrapa, of popular use, with a problematic reference to the woman and the goat. The article demonstrates the Byzantine (non-ancient Greek) origin of the name Anacapri, rejecting the modern myth of ‘Greek Anacapri’, and considers Ronnacrapa / Donnacrapa a degenerate form of the oldest and most official Anacapri.
