This paper analyses the different approaches of two poets to the translation of the same text, Rutilius Namatianus? ‘de reditu’; in addition to that, how the reading of the work changed in the course of one of the poets? life will be examined. The survey aims at proving that the value of the ‘Übersetzen’ is connected to the idea of relativity; the latter is not a limit, but a positive element, not only because it implies the comparison of two different linguistic systems, but also because it enriches with its fluidity the potentialities of the text.

Abstract
