The taxonomy of marine ostracod assemblages from Upper Badenian (Serravallian) sediments of Upper Silesia Basin (Fore-Carpathian Depression, southwestern Poland) has been studied. Twenty-two samples, recovered in the Gliwice 21 borehole, yielded 102 species belonging to 63 genera. Of these species, 56 have been previously described, 8 are tentatively referred to known species; 18 species and 2 subspecies are described as new, the latter are Callistocythere gliwicensis sp. nov., Cytherois ruggierii sp. nov., Cytheroma bonaducei sp. nov., Cytheropteron nadezdae sp. nov., Cytheropteron sagittaeferrum sp. nov., Hemiparacytheridea tuber sp. nov., Kunihirella viatrix sp. nov., Loxoconcha quadrifenestrata sp. nov., Microcythere panis sp. nov., Microcytherura (Microcytherura) everriculum sp. nov., Microcytherura (Tetracytherura) dianae sp. nov., Paracytheridea depressa. Further 7 species are left in open nomenclature and 11 with affinitive status. Stratigraphic and areal distributions of the taxa have been reported. Seven genera, i.e. Hemiparacytheridea, Kunihirella, Loxoconchidea, Rimacytheropteron, Ruggieriella, Swainocythere and Typhlocythere have been recorded for the first time in the Central Paratethys.
