During this period of suspension from ordinary everyday life, a project for new modular spaces for study and research became an occasion to focus our reflections on two aspects which apparently seemed not to converge, but actually intertwine in a specific line of investigation: an architectural theme – spaces for work – and a construction technique – 3D concrete printing. Is it possible to build a meaningful relationship between architectural design, construction techniques and physical spaces, facing different variables and recognize their motives and qualities? Starting from this complex question – whose answers exponentially exceeds the possibilities contained in a single experimentation – the approach proposed here starts from a renewed attitude towards craftsmanship in the digital turn to define possible limits to real and mandatory necessities; a reflection to research, among manifold possibilities offered by advanced technologies, which experiences will prove better for tomorrow’s way of living.

Abstract
During this period of suspension from ordinary everyday life, a project for new modular spaces for study and research became an occasion to focus our reflections on two aspects which apparently seemed not to converge, but actually intertwine in a specific line of investigation: an architectural theme – spaces for work – and a construction technique – 3D concrete printing. Is it possible to build a meaningful relationship between architectural design, construction techniques and physical spaces, facing different variables and recognize their motives and qualities? Starting from this complex question – whose answers exponentially exceeds the possibilities contained in a single experimentation – the approach proposed here starts from a renewed attitude towards craftsmanship in the digital turn to define possible limits to real and mandatory necessities; a reflection to research, among manifold possibilities offered by advanced technologies, which experiences will prove better for tomorrow’s way of living.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
