Abstract
The area downstream of the Bourbon mound forms the extreme edge of the Insula Occidentalis towards the contemporary city of Pompeii. Beginning with a brief historical survey of its rediscovery, this essay suggests the potential of an “excavation landscape” that may be preserved and enhanced through targeted interventions to improve its accessibility and use. These include a new pedestrian path extending from the Suburban Baths to the Villa of Diomedes, which adds scenic and naturalistic value to the possible itineraries for visiting a complex and stratified site such as Pompeii.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
