This article will first seek to survey the various classifications of Restrictive Measures (RMs) and the ways in which they are adopted and applied. Secondly, after having outlined the historical-legal framework in which RMs were adopted following the crisis in Ukraine, it will focus on the analysis of the most recent case-law inherent to RMs adopted by the Council to freeze the assets of individuals of the Ukrainian political class responsible for the misappropriation of Ukrainian state funds.
