This paper offers a new examination of the text transmitted by the parch- ment scrap of P. Its structural complexity is highlighted from an ecdotical and literary point of view. In fact, the scanty fragment seems to bear two different recensions of the Medea. More- over an in-depth analysis of some ‘mistakes’ can be relevant to identify some peculiar readings of P. Mich. inv. 4969 fr. 36, as for the Typhon instead of Python at Med. 700.

Abstract
This paper offers a new examination of the text transmitted by the parch- ment scrap of P. Mich. inv. 4969 fr. 36 – a manuscript witness of Seneca’s Medea of which only a few lines (663–704) survive, coming from Late Antique Egypt. 700.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
