The paper proposes a new model for a dual active bridge DC-DC converter. The model is developed in time-domain and it takes into account the effective waveform of all the quantities of interest. The paper introduces some algebraic and integral operations useful for modeling the converter defining some “support functions”. Starting by these functions a full analytical model of the DAB is deduced. The effectiveness of the suggested analytical model has been tested and confirmed by simulations and experiments with a 3 kW prototype 28/270 V.

Abstract

The paper proposes a new model for a dual active bridge DC-DC converter. The model is developed in time-domain and it takes into account the effective waveform of all the quantities of interest. The paper introduces some algebraic and integral operations useful for modeling the converter defining some “support functions”. Starting by these functions a full analytical model of the DAB is deduced. The effectiveness of the suggested analytical model has been tested and confirmed by simulations and experiments with a 3 kW prototype 28/270 V.
