The interconnected and systemic challenges linked to climate change, scarcity of materials, and natural and anthropic risks, suggest the need of experimenting with new ways of living in the contemporary city, through regenerative approaches characterized by flexibility/adaptivity, and based on the principles of circular economy and circular urban metabolism. This contribution proposes a critical reflection on the possibilities of regeneration of the former Psychiatric Hospital Leonardo Bianchi, in the northern area of Naples, through the valorization of abandoned urban areas and contributing to the definition of sustainable and resilient future scenarios, closing loops of resources locally. In this sense, the nearby social and public housing districts, as well as wastescapes, become a structuring reference for the socio-environmental reconnection of the wider and often highly fragmented urban fabric.

Abstract
In this sense, the nearby social and public housing districts, as well as wastescapes, become a structuring reference for the socio-environmental reconnection of the wider and often highly fragmented urban fabric.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
