Additions, updates and notes to the non-native vascular flora of Campania (Southern Italy)

New data on the non-native vascular flora of Campania (Southern Italy) from field surveys, herbaria and literature investigations are presented here. The following species are new for the region: Catalpa ovata G.Don, Claytonia perfoliata Donn ex Willd. subsp. perfoliata, Cotoneaster coriaceus Franch., Datura wrightii Regel, Opuntia phaeacantha Engelm., Phyllostachys aurea Carrière ex Rivière & C.Rivière, Sesbania punicea (Cav.) Benth., Yucca gloriosa L. and Pinus brutia Ten. (the last is however indigenous to Italy). Cyclospermum leptophyllum (Pers.) Britton & P.Wilson, Fagopyrum esculentum Moench, Freesia leichtlinii Klatt subsp. alba (G.L.Mey.) J.C.Manning & Goldblatt, Nicotiana tabacum L., Pennisetum villosum Fresen., Populus × canadensis Moench, Syringa vulgaris L. are confirmed for the regional flora. Several species are excluded, among which Ailanthus excelsa Roxb., Echium angustifolium Lam. subsp. sericeum (Vahl) Klotz and Echium longifolium Delile. The presence in the past of Bulbine asphodeloides (L.) Spreng. and Plumbago zeylanica L. (otherwise unknown for Italy) is confirmed. Miscellaneous notes on status, doubtful records and additional literature are also included.
