The complex polymorphic behavior of syndiotactic polystyrene (s-PS) is modified in the miscible blends with poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (PPO), in melt crystallized samples as well as in samples crystallized from the quenched amorphous phase. In particular, the formation of the crystalline form having a peculiar solvent resistance is favored. Possible interpretation of the phenomena is presented.
