The presence of a Campanian bronze urn on the Iberian Peninsula forces to reconsider some other finds of bronze statuettes together with Etruscan and Campanian vessels imported into the Western Mediterranean. Abstract
Antonio Vives Escudero’s (1859–1925) collection included two bronze statuettes from the decoration of a Campanian bronze urn. A discussion on the history of the collection allows demon- strating that the two statuettes were most probably found at Almuñécar (prov. Granada, Spain) on the Iberian Peninsula. The presence of a Campanian bronze urn on the Iberian Peninsula forces to reconsider some other finds of bronze statuettes together with Etruscan and Campanian vessels imported into the Western Mediterranean. More generally speaking, a review of the archaeological records shows new perspectives for the interpretation of Italic finds on the Iberian Peninsula.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
