The essay studies the theme of 'conversion' in the lives of Marsilio Ficino and Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. The study of the biographies written by Giovanni Corsi and Piero Caponsacchi, for the first philosopher, and by Gianfrancesco Pico, for the second, allows a close analysis of the complex spiritual story of the two philosophers. Themes such as the 'prisca theologia' and the preaching of Girolamo Savonarola are studied through the role they played in the lives of Marsilio Ficino and Giovanni Pico, which are, finally, emblematic of the anxiety of renewal of the early Renaissance.

Abstract
The essay studies the theme of 'conversion' in the lives of Marsilio Ficino and Giovanni Pico della Mirandola. The study of the biographies written by Giovanni Corsi and Piero Caponsacchi, for the first philosopher, and by Gianfrancesco Pico, for the second, allows a close analysis of the complex spiritual story of the two philosophers. Themes such as the 'prisca theologia' and the preaching of Girolamo Savonarola are studied through the role they played in the lives of Marsilio Ficino and Giovanni Pico, which are, finally, emblematic of the anxiety of renewal of the early Renaissance.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
