Note sugli usi politici del vincolo della fides, dell'imaginatio e della religio in Giordano Bruno

This contribution crosses and reconstructs some of the main formulations and political uses of the bond of fides, imaginatio and religio in Giordano Bruno. Starting from the Sigillus Sigillorum, passing through the Italian dialogues, up to De vinculis in general, the study analyzes the evolutions, the resumes and the reformulations of these notions, observing how the magical praxis corresponds and is inseparable from to the medical, prophetical and political ones. In this perspective, we come to examine what for Bruno represents a particular bond of faith, imagination and religion, such as the mystery of the Eucharist, and how its political use may be both an act of sovereignty and an instrument of pacification of the civil body.
