Urban archaeology fragments are characterized by an unquestionable aura of “holiness”, and yet, more and more often, they become abandoned and disregarded places. It is exactly the case of Carminiello ai Mannesi’s archaeological complex, a magnificent site located in Napoli’s historical centre, nowadays denied to the city due to a blind wall that surrounds the whole area. This wall, during the last years, has turned into a shield, behind which keeps going on the profanation of one of the most precious testimonies of the Neapolis graeco-roman city.

Abstract
Urban archaeology fragments are characterized by an unquestionable aura of “holiness”, and yet, more and more often, they become abandoned and disregarded places. It is exactly the case of Carminiello ai Mannesi’s archaeological complex, a magnificent site located in Napoli’s historical centre, nowadays denied to the city due to a blind wall that surrounds the whole area. This wall, during the last years, has turned into a shield, behind which keeps going on the profanation of one of the most precious testimonies of the Neapolis graeco-roman city.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
