The interpretative reading of the hermit complex, a singular graft between history and matter, made use of the integrated contribution of various disciplines, primarily architecture and archeology which, jointly, allowed the analytical reconstruction of the stratification of the hermitage, where different modes of use overlap in time and space. With the aim of restoring the singular conformation of the site through sequential horizontal and vertical sections deducible from the iconic point cloud, the range-based TLS survey technology has proven effective for the conformational analysis of environments, surfaces and textures; additionally, an integrated methodology was tested which, making synergistic use of the accuracy of innovative instruments, was profitably inserted into the traditional cognitive process.
