This work examines the English experience in self-regulation from a pragmatic prospective and a theoretical focus. The Author proposes a critical riding of the English scholarly literature, that has found the political decision’s legitimacy of these private bodies in involving the third parties in their rule-making. But the representation of interests could not be a substitute of the political representation. Therefore, the issue of the broad delegation concerning political choices to private bodies remains yet open and poses a crucial problem concerning its compatibility with the democratic principle of political accountability.
