To improve the measuring capability of the rainfall monitoring network belonging to Hydrographic and Oceanographic Servicee of Naples, 50 new stations were added and located in such a way to increase significantly the fractal dimension of their areal distributiomn, The enlargment of the network allows the correct measurement of the xtreme event occurrrd in Napkes on 15 September 2001.
