Transport properties mesurements on Mo60Re40 superconducting thin films exposed to an α particles beam are reported, in order to study their radiation hardness. The Mo60Re40 compound has in fact interesting properties for its application as coating of resonant cavities for particle acceleration. The data show a much smaller degradation of superconducting properties of Mo60Re40 (namely the transition temperature and the critical current) than other A 15 materials. The results obtained are discussed and compared with previous measurements performed on the stoichiometric A15 Mo75Re25 compound. © 1995 Elsevier Science B.V.
