Ethnobotonical data from the area of Matese (Campania Region, Italy) were analyzed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Environmental variables used were land use cover (CORINE), elevation, and population density. Results show that GIS has good potential for identifying and characterizing areas of ethnobotanical interest by providing a priori data, thereby reducing the time needed for collection of field data.

Abstract
Ethnobotonical data from the area of Matese (Campania Region, Italy) were analyzed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Environmental variables used were land use cover (CORINE), elevation, and population density. Results show that GIS has good potential for identifying and characterizing areas of ethnobotanical interest by providing a priori data, thereby reducing the time needed for collection of field data.File in questo prodotto:
