The occurrence of mycotoxins as food contaminants represents a serious treat for the population, in particular for the children, exposed to the intake of contaminated food. Health risk assessment and risk management have been adopted by the World Health Organization, and the establishment of mycotoxins levels and regulations need be developed focusing on child characteristics and health concerns.
